چکیده

The relationship between turbidity (T) and ultraviolet C (UVC) disinfection is still not clearly understood, as well no attention has been paid to the contribution of natural organic matter (NOM). present work assessed influence particulate NOM on UVC efficiency in terms E. coli MS2 removal at bench collimated beam (CB) flow-UVC systems, both laboratory field (Colombia). reactor was installed part a household water treatment (HWT) system consisting filtration + disinfection. Tests were performed according WHO standards using fine test dust, humic acid (HA), microbiological indicators. CB results showed significant decrease inactivation rate presence small concentrations HA (3.5 mg/L), with killing dose increasing 65%, vs. non-significant effects range 0–20 NTU. Following same trend, tests decreased solely HA. At concentration flow rate, an increase 17.6 NTU negligible effect. Conversely, HA, UVT254 dropped from 88.7% (0 mg/L HA) 73.3%, reducing by 1–2 log-units. Finally, HWT could be classified protective working rates ?5 L/min. However, 3.5 (UVT254 < 75%), it presented limited protection for viruses.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Household Pasteurization of Drinking-water: The Chulli Water-treatment System

A simple flow-through system has been developed which makes use of wasted heat generated in traditional clay ovens (chullis) to pasteurize surface water. A hollow aluminium coil is built into the clay chulli, and water is passed through the coil during normal cooking events. By adjusting the flow rate, effluent temperature can be maintained at approximately 70 degrees C. Laboratory testing, alo...

A Green Approach to Safe Domestic Drinking Water Supply by Using Solar Geyser

Introduction: Accessibility to safe drinking water is an important human health issue, so water reuse and water resources management are critical in arid parts of developing  regions. This study aimed to investigate the use of a combined simple designed solar geyser/photocell for drinking water disinfection. Materials and Methods: In this study, a solar geyser with a simple design was combined...
